Playoffs for the biggest event at Esports World Cup, the Dota 2 Riyadh Masters 2024 are now taking place. Four teams have made their way into the upper bracket semifinals, while the losers against them have moved to the lower bracket round 1.
This also includes one of the fan favourites, Team Spirit, who had a phenomenal 2023 and were also performing relatively well this year. 2023 saw the team with three of the biggest wins, these were Riyadh Masters 2023, DreamLeague Season 21 and The International 2023.
Entering 2024, the team seems to have little ups and downs but recently secured the first-ever Dota 2 tournament by PGL, Wallachia Season 1. Entering the Esports World Cup, Team Spirit seemed to be back on track.

Brutal loss against Team Liquid
Team Spirit matched with Team Liquid in the upper bracket, and quarterfinals and faced a crushing defeat back to back in a best-of-three scenario. Liquid has also seen a fair share of incredible moments, however, they have always fallen short at the end.
This rivalry may have started with Team Spirit defeating Liquid Riyadh Masters 2023 grand finals. Returning the favour this year, the first was Team Liquid. The team dominated Spirit across both of the matches, with no chance for a comeback at any point.
However, Liquid still isn’t in the clear as Spirit has yet to play in the lower bracket and could meet once again either in the lower brackets or the grand finals. Fans are hoping for a comeback from Team Spirit in an insane run to the grand finals.
