Sixteen teams have locked against each other for one of the most prestigious CS2 events, Intel Extreme Masters (IEM) Rio 2024 including Team Liquid. The team recently saved themselves from being eliminated in the closed qualifiers after losing the initial match against Legacy, who recently swapped rosters and took down Liquid in the upper bracket finals to qualify for the grand final of the closed qualifier.
An interesting loss for Team Liquid after they opened up the match with a victory before their opponents made a comeback. The loss does come as a shock as Liquid is currently ranked number 8 while Legacy isn’t even in the top thirty.
Liquid, however, made a recovery to secure the lower bracket final and went on for a rematch against Legacy. This time around, they managed to take home a clean victory and move on to the Group Stage matches alongside other popular names like NaVi, FaZe Clan and G2 Esports.
A cold-blooded revenge by Team Liquid
Following their loss, Liquid went on to take down Fluffy Aimers quite easily to get back on track and matched once again with Legacy. This time, however, things were different as the team led a dominating first half followed by a similar second half to secure the opening match game.

The second match saw Legacy make a comeback to gain a big lead. Team Liquid, however, managed to chase the score and once again finished the second game without any problems.
