Oivind “Windy” Toverud - 82 years

Esports is usually considered a sport for young players, especially with young players dominating the scene. Silver Snipers hails from Sweden, Stockholm, and while the team may not have a cabinet full of trophies to show, they are a great reminder that video games can be enjoyed by anyone, regardless of their age. Each member have over thousands of hours in Counter Strike.

They also proved all the people saying gaming is impossible at this age wrong after securing the DreamHack Summer 2019 showing that while it may be hard, gaming is still possible in old age. Even if they do not win, it is simply fun.
Speaking of the victories and matches in an interview, another member, Abbe “Birdie” Drakborg said, “Our big goal is, of course, to show people that gaming is for everyone and that if we can, so can you!”.
A great example of seniors gaming casually are the GrndpaGaming, who play a variety of video games and Shirley Curry who was famous for playing Skyrim but recently announced her retirement at the age of 88 years. There are many more examples for seniors enjoying competitive video games casually.
