Resident Evil 9 rumoured for an early release amid speculation and leaks

Resident Evil 9 could see daylight during the first half of the year 2026, as per a leak. It is important to note that it is a leak which suggests so, since there has been no official statement by Capcom on the release date of Resident Evil 9. There are several rumours surrounding the survival of the game which cannot be entirely trusted. 

Resident Evil’s final entry was during 2021, which implies the release of the Resident Evil Village. Post that, there have been releases by the franchise which has been quite successful making way for the remaking of the Resident Evil 4. The game had recorded an unit sale of more than 10 million, which notably saw faster growth than the other RE game. This made the fans speculate on the upcoming game to enter the series, this is when there are rising rumours on the Resident Evil 9 release, where Leon S Kennedy is going to be its protagonist. 

Resident Evil 9 leak stirs buzz ahead of Summer Game Fest

Taking to ComicBook, ScreenFire Germany’s Andi has disclosed the fact that Capcom are planning on the release of Resident Evil 9 in between 1st Jan and 31st Mar, 2026. He also mentioned that the game release schedule will get its official announcement in the upcoming Summer Game Fest, which is dated to begin on 6th June. Andi’s track record has not been great in regards to accuracy and consistency. Despite this, Aesthetic Gamer, Dusk Golem, acknowledged his predictions and said he tends to believe in what Andi is saying.

It can also be noted that a while ago, Golem also came up with the leak that this RE 9’s release is going to be a turning point for the franchise as they would go through a remarkable reinvention for the same. The level for this game will be similar to that of RE 4 and 7, as the makers are eager to bring in new twists and turns to the game. With the increased speculations, it can be said that the game teaser might get its release soon, but it is difficult to have any certainty since there is lack of clarity from the game makers on the same.
