Resident Evil
Renowned Japanese Video game company Capcom is set to re-release the original 1996 Resident Evil game on PC. This news arose after a recent rating given by Europe's Pan European Game Information (PEGI) board, which has cleared the game for a PC launch. The PEGI rating page has reportedly disclosed an exact release date, indicating that the classic instalment will be available this week.
Originally launched in 1996, Resident Evil has since become a cornerstone of survival-horror gaming, introducing players to the eerie Spencer Mansion and the sinister Umbrella Corporation. The re-release aims to bring the original experience to a new generation of players, offering them the chance to relive the iconic moments that defined the genre.
The original Resident Evil (1996) has been rated for PC in Europe. Resident Evil was technically already released for PC in 1996, but I guess it's not actually available via Steam or any digital marketplaces these days. pic.twitter.com/hVHlkCWRrx

Which version of the game will be released?
This re-release is expected to be faithful to the original, preserving the atmospheric tension and gameplay mechanics that made Resident Evil a beloved title. Fans eagerly await the chance to play the legendary PC game once again on modern platforms.

There are two versions of Resident Evil available: the original and the director's cut, which features additional weapon types, unique item locations, and collectable outfits. It's unclear which version of the game has been graded by PEGI for a prospective re-release. The PlayStation Plus Classics collection offers access to Resident Evil: Director's Cut for PlayStation.
Resident Evil Zero is apparently one of two more remakes in development, following the release of the Resident Evil 2, 3, and 4 remakes alongside new mainline entries. Reimagining Resident Evil: Code Veronica may be added to Capcom's list of Resident Evil games that it confirmed was redone last year, along with the prequel.
