MSI gaming has now refreshed their Claw handheld gaming console line-up with much awaited Intel Lunar Lake CPUs. After an initial reveal and testing, Intel fans were eagerly waiting to get their hands on Lunar Lake devices and now the devices are available for pre-order with official release date planned for January 15.

The new CPUs come with Claw 7 AI+ and Claw 8 AI+ featuring Intel Core Ultra 7 (Series 2) and the main advantage of these new chips are power to performance ratio. Previous testing revealed that Lunar Lake CPUs were able to compete with several top handheld gaming devices in the market in almost half the amount of power consumption.

This comes as a great advantage for those who plan for a longer session. Where other devices may give up soon, the new MSI Claw is expected to keep the performance consistent in the long run. Although, the benchmarks across different games will likely be available ahead of full release.

Full specifications and price for Claw 7 AI+ and Claw 8 AI+

The new Claw handheld gaming devices features some improved specs, including a slightly better screen and faster memory. The price for the devices are also shifted accordingly. Here is a complete breakdown of what’s new.

Claw 7 AI+

The MSI Claw 7 AI+ is prices at $͏7͏99.99͏, a $50 increase compared to its previous gen counterpart. For this increase, the device provides a new CPU, more RAM at 32 GB compared to 16 in previous model. The RAM frequency is also much faster, but the trade-off here is low storage at only 512 GB. As for the display, the device is rocking a 7-inch Full HD 120 Hz screen.

Claw 8 AI+

The more expensive counterpart, Claw 8 AI+ will set gamers back $899.99 but features a bigger screen of 8 inches compared to 7 across all other devices. The device also comes with Wi-Fi 7 and 1 TB storage. Other specifications are similar to it’s cheaper counterpart with 32GB DDR5 ram running at 8533MHz.
