Intel's Battlemage series graphics cards, Arc B580 and B570, have now been revealed along with the full specification sheet, which looks very enticing for budget gamers. The B580 in particular is claimed to be more powerful than the RTX 4060 in terms of performance at a cheaper price and serves as a direct upgrade in the budget GPU segment.

“The new Intel Arc B-Series GPUs are the perfect upgrades for gamers. They deliver leading performance-per-dollar and great 1440p gaming experiences with XeSS 2, second-generation ray tracing engines and XMX AI engines. We’re delighted to be joined by more partners than ever so that gamers have more choice in finding their perfect design,” Intel VP, Vivian Lien, said.
The Arc B580 is priced at $250 which is $50 cheaper than the RTX 4060 on release. The card is designed for 1440p gaming, although pushing the setting to Ultra preset can put a strain on the GPU, but it also depends on the type of game running. Intel already showcased their performance chart across various games and claimed the GPU to be 10% more powerful than Nvidia RTX 4060. Third party performance are yet to come.

Improved software and hardware
Along with the hardware, Intel have further improved upon the software aspect, which was a big issue in their first gen GPUs. The company introduced XeSS 2 and XeLL that allow players to upscale image and add have lower input delay in order to compete with DLSS and FSR.
The B570 on the other hand is a slightly cut down version of B580 and cost even less and also have a decent amount of VRAM which is one of the main issues with lower end graphics cards. Arc B580 GPUs will be available starting December 13, while the B570 will be available starting January 13 next month. For the time being, it is better to check out other third party benchmarks for both GPUs.
