Mass Effect TV Series is now under development at Amazon

A Mass Effect TV Series is finally in work at Amazon, following early talks between the company and EA back in 2021. More details on the story are yet to be revealed.

Mass Effect video game series is one of the most iconic RPG series and with the craze of TV adaptation for games, it is finally getting one. Developed by BioWare, the game itself is known for its exploration, story and memorable characters. Players had a lot of different choices in the game, which amassed a lot of praise from the players.

First reported by Variety, the Mass Effect TV series is being developed by Amazon. Details on what the series is about are yet to be revealed, but Daniel Casey, who previously worked on Fast 9 will be taking over the script with Michael Gamble from EA along with Karim Zreik, and Ari Arad joining as executive producers.

A TV series was previously in talks between Amazon and EA back in 2021, however, there has been no follow-up until now. Fans are expecting to Commander Shepard make an appearance, but it is currently too early to tell.

With a new adaptation comes new skepticism

At the same time, many fans are worried about the direction the show might take. The Fallout TV series was quite successful among fans for bringing some of the beloved characters and a good story, However, it is one of the few examples of good adaptation.

A majority of TV adaptations including Halo, one of the biggest fps franchises, were heavily criticized by fans for making characters into something they aren’t. Mass Effect also features an impressive cast and hopefully, we will see another good show that everyone can appreciate.

As for Bioware, following the release of Dragon Age: The Veilguard, there will be normal updates as there are currently no players for a DLC or expansion. The team is now completely focusing on the next Mass Effect game, which may align with the TV series in more than just release. We already know the sequel to Hogwarts Legacy is planning something similar.
