Since its release, Marvel Rivals has been doing well as per their popularity and player count. The developers do not plan to stop any time soon. In a recent interview, Game Director for Marvel Rivals, ‘Guangyun Chen’, talked about what they are cooking future updates.

On top of a fun gameplay loop, live service games require a steady flow of content to keep players invested. Chen revealed that the entire content for Marvel Rivals Season 2 is already prepared. The development team has already drafted Season 3 and 4 with the content currently under ‘intensive development’.

“We have invested a lot of resources into developing upcoming content, including new characters, new maps, new modes, and more. The content for Season 2 is ready and set to go. The designs for Seasons 3 and 4 have also been completed and are currently under intensive development! Overall, everything is progressing smoothly,” Chen said, speaking to PC Gamer.

Balance changes incoming to Team-up abilities

Marvel Rivals introduced an interesting concept of Team-up abilities, where characters who have synergy in the actual lore can take up a combined attack together. Hulk can throw Wolverine like a ball, Rocker Racoon can ride on Groot, Storm and can create a fire tornado with Human Torch, and more.

Needless to say, not everything is balanced considering the game is new and there are a lot of characters in Marvel. The game director also admits this and previously said that balancing every aspect is not the ultimate priority, however, some much-needed changes are coming to Marvel Rivals in order to make the game feel more fun rather than frustrating.

“Team-Up skills are dynamic. Starting from Season 2, we will introduce new Team-Up skills with the seasonal update and adjust some existing ones. Together with seasonal overall balance adjustments, this will create a new combat environment and experience for the season,” the game director added.
