Latest update for COD Modern Warfare 3 breaks split-screen feature for many players

The latest update for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 recently broke the split-screen feature in the game, as complained by multiple fans. This is getting annoying for the players who used to play together on a single screen, as multiple crashes while entering the game have been reported across PS5, PC, and Xbox.

Bugs and glitches inside video games can be quite frustrating, but the worst offender is game crashes, forcing players to restart, only to meet another potential crash. It gets really annoying for PC players who have to jump through different launch screens via the COD HQ just to play the game.

Many people have already tried the basic troubleshooting including a complete reinstallation of the game but are still facing crashes on split screen. “Still haven’t found a solution myself, saw someone tried reducing frames from 120 to 60 but still no fix to this. Extremely frustrating that I paid 70 dollars for a game I can’t play anymore,” one of the users said. It is currently unknown what’s causing this issue.

Looking back at the complaints, the crashing issue for Modern Warfare 3 has persisted for the past few days across all platforms, with one of the comments mentioning, “been having this problem for 3 days now. I've tried everything. Hopefully, we get a fix, or me and wife will just retire MW3 and wait for bo6.”

Activision focusing on Black Ops 6 release?

It’s no secret that older COD games are eventually left in the dust with the release of new games. With COD Black Ops 6 set to release on October 25, many feel like Modern Warfare 3 is also getting the same treatment. The game already faced a lot of controversy on release with a lackluster campaign.

The release also came on the back of Activision's promise to skip a year of release and provide better support for Modern Warfare Two. Furthermore, multiple signs pointed out that the game itself was a DLC release as a full-priced game.
