With new year, Krafton India has also brought some fresh news regarding the Battlegrounds Mobile India Series (BGIS) 2025. A new trailer for the upcoming BGMI event revealed the overview for the tournament circuit. Registrations for the open qualifiers starts January 3rd allowing everyone a chance to prove their skills heading into 2025.
Following the registration, teams will compete in the BGIS open qualifiers. More details on the open qualifiers are expected to be revealed soon. Players just need to make sure to register with a team they can rely on. A total of 1016 teams will move towards the league stage following the conclusion of open qualifiers.
The BGIS 2025 will also feature 64 professional BGMI teams that will also compete with the challengers. 2024 saw many controversies regarding the official tournaments, following which BGMI fans saw several roster swaps, disbands and entry of new teams in the Indian esports scene. The pros will be back on stage, however, this time, they might make an appearance with a new look.

Krafton India to maintain a professional environment
The main cause of major controversies last year in the BGMI scene was due to cheating and foul play. Reports of several teams cheating during the open qualifiers were rising, causing some unwanted upsets. Furthermore, banned players were also competing under different alias.
In order to address these issues, Krafton India shared a statement of warning to the cheaters that starting this year, the team will not be holding back. Furthermore, they also promised better securing and competitive environment, but that remains to be tested in the first official BGMI event of 2025.
However, despite all the cheaters, Team XSpark managed to make history by becoming the first team to secure both official BGMI tournaments in a single year. This year, they will be making an appearance as Revenant XSpark following their recent merger. Fans are waning to see if they manage to pull the same achievement once again.
