The sequel to Warhorse Studios’ medieval RPG game Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 saw massive success on launch. Reaching 159,351 players on Steam within 24 hours of release, the game has now set a new landmark for the studio. What’s even more impressive is that all this happened on a weekday, further revealing the anticipation among fans.
Released back in 2018, Kingdom Come Deliverance was a brutal, yet beautiful RPG game that saw players take on the role of Henry during the time of the Civil War. The game was critically acclaimed for its story, open world, and characters and at the time, reached a peak player count of 96,000 on Steam and retains a very positive rating.
Six years after its release, the developers, Warhorse Studios released the sequel which is receiving even more love. The devs brought back everything praised in the original game including the non-linear story progression, and sprawling open world that isn't filled with meaningless side quests. A new combat system is also implemented, something which was likely the only major complaint in the first game.

The Witcher and Stalker devs congratulate Warhorse Studios
Celebrating a successful launch, developers behind The Witcher and Stalker games also congratulated Warhorse Studios. In an official post, both studios shared official art sharing a drink and handshake while wishing Warhorse the best for the future.

Kingdom Come Deliverance is likely to see even higher numbers
As mentioned previously, the game launched on a Tuesday and reached almost 160,000 players. This is an incredible achievement alone, however, the numbers will likely break the current peak player count during the weekend as there are plenty of things to do in the game.
