Apex Legends might be getting a monthly subscription (Image - EA/Epic Games)
A recent Apex Legends survey now suggests that Electronic Arts (EA) might be looking to bring a new monthly subscription service to the game. The survey was sent to players to ask them if they would be interested in a “monthly subscription” that will reward them in-game currency, monthly rewards, and Battle Pass tiers.
If this reminds you of something, it’s the Fortnite Crew subscription coming $11.99 per month and provides players access to monthly exclusive skin, V-Bucks, battle passes and other rewards. This was first reported by Insider Gaming, who also received the survey with other players for feedback, which points towards EA planning something.
Fortnite Crew subscription has been quite popular, so if EA plans on bringing something similar, it needs to justify players spending money each month. On the contrary, if the rewards are justified, the subscription can be a great way for players to get the battle pass and in-game currency along with character skins without spending too much.

No official announcement by EA
At the moment, EA has not announced anything regarding the same but if the survey does well, it will just be a matter of time. Apex Legends has seen some rough days recently with their battle pass changes, which started a big controversy. The introduction of universal heirlooms and more currency was also not well received.
Most recently, Apex Legends brought back the OG map when it first launched to maintain the already declining player base. The OG season worked well for Fortnite, so EA might be banking on hitting players with nostalgia from the time it was called the greatest Battle Royale.
It might also be clear to everyone where the survey regarding the subscription model might be coming from. EA might be going with a “If you can’t beat them, join them” mentality. As of now, it is hard to say how well this would work out.
