The reviews for the new AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D are emerging across the web and are quickly becoming the first choice for many in gaming. This comes after the fact that Zen 5 CPUs were already getting some heat in terms of performance.
This massive performance boost in gaming comes with a prize tag of $480 which is less than Ryzen 9 9900X and Ryzen 9 9950X. However, both of those CPUs contain 12 and 16 cores while also having higher clock speeds at 5.6 GHz and 5.7 GHz.
The extra number of cores is one of the reasons why 9800X3D is a bit behind in terms of productivity, but today, everyone is talking about gaming and here the processor simply dominates the competition thanks to its massive 105 MB Cache which is a regular occurrence in X3D processors.

While the performance vary slightly across the board due to testing conditions, the CPU was able to outperform its counterpart Ryzen 9 7800X3D. Compared to its competition Intel, benchmarks from tomshardware found the CPU 30-35% faster while also providing better 1% lows.
For those who want to take it extremely also need not worry, as General manager for ASUS China, Tony Yu also tested 7800X3D with extreme overclocks running at 6.9 GHz over Bilibili and the results were over 1000 FPS across Valorant and Counter-Strike 2 and the power consumption hovering around 100W.
Of course, cooling with liquid nitrogen will not be a regular setup for an average gamer, but it goes on to show how powerful the processor is and what the possibilities are in the future.
