Despite several speculations, it seems like the second trailer for Grand Theft Auto (GTA) 6 will not be released in March. There may be many reasons why Rockstar Games hasn’t revealed the new trailer, however, the CEO of Take-Two, ‘Strauss Zelnick’, explained the reason in very simple terms, that is ‘to maintain the anticipation and the excitement’.

In his latest interview with Bloomberg, Zelnick talked about getting into the gaming industry and how well it has been going for him. He also touched on future topics on what they plan/hope to do and also how he thinks AI isn’t what people think is going to be, however, people were most likely waiting to hear about GTA 6.
While Zelnick didn’t exactly tell people when the next trailer is going to drop, he did say why there isn’t one out yet and also provided a crucial hint on the release of the game. Regarding the trailer, he said they want to create anticipation, “The anticipation for that title may be the greatest anticipation I’ve ever seen for an entertainment property. We want to maintain the anticipation and the excitement,” Zelnick said.
Extensive marketing means GTA 6 release is very close
Following up on the anticipation topic, he also mentioned that other companies reveal too much of their games way too early, sometimes years ahead of release. This isn’t how Take-Two operates as they plan on starting extensive marketing as the release gets closer.
“We found that the better thing to do is to provide marketing materials relatively close to the release window in order to create that excitement on the one hand and balance the excitement with unmet anticipation,” he further added to the statement.
The anticipation part isn’t exactly news as people already know they don’t have to do anything as GTA 6 is marketing itself. Once again, he may have left GTA fans high and dry, however, he did reveal some crucial information and fans will now know that the release is imminent if Rockstar themselves start to market their games more than a little.
