While Team XSpark did everything right, Global Esports did everything almost right at the BGIS 2024 Grand Finals. The team managed to secure the second spot and missed out on the championship trophy by just eight points.

Global Esports managed to secure two chicken dinners and thought the Grand Finals, out of which one was a record point for any team in a single match. NinjaBoi took home the MVP of the tournament along with the player with the most finishes and Rampage award.

Despite achieving so much at the event, the team remained a few steps behind Team XSpark in the Grand Finals. Let’s talk about the biggest possible reason why the team was shy of a few points.

What went wrong for Global Esports at BGIS 2024?

Over the three-day-long Grand Finals, Global Esports always had a great standing. The first day saw the team in second spot, just four points behind IQOO Soul. The second day saw the team go ahead and secure the second spot by a very decent margin from Team XSpark.

However, across all three days, Global Esports had a horrible first match. By that, we mean that the team was eliminated before they could secure any position points. Out of 16 teams, only the top eight received position points and until a team reached the top five, these points did not matter much.

Where GE lost a lot of ground, Team XSpark made progress, which can be considered as one reason why the team failed to secure the BGIS 2024 championship. Another opportunity that the team missed was in the final match for the entire BGIS series.

With Reckoning Esports making a comeback, Global Esports had one last chance to overtake XSpark after they were eliminated early on. Instead, they choose to play it a bit more on the safer side and while they did reach the top two, other teams have racked up finisher points, leaving them dry.
