The Garena Free Fire Esports World Cup is all set to commence, featuring 18 teams competing for the $1 million prize, with the winner securing a spot in the Free Fire World Series Global Finals 2024 that is set to take place in November this year.
Free Fire is one of the most popular mobile esports titles across the globe and currently holds the second spot in peak viewership count at 5.4 million, which is only topped by League of Legends with 6.4 million peak viewership.
Before getting banned in India, the game was also one of the biggest competitors to Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI). Most recently, Garena announced that the game is making a comeback in the Indian market as Free Fire India, however, there have been multiple delays and while the game is available for pre-register, the release date is currently unknown.
