Shiva Nandy, founder of Skyesports recently posted some exciting updates on X about a bump to the Indian Esports scene in the upcoming days. Without revealing much, he said that Indian teams will be getting direct slots in the global league, which can be a gateway for Indian esports to go international. Although the details are still a mystery.

“Last two days were wonderful with the publisher and all stakeholders. The road map is solid, and Indian teams are getting direct slots in the global league. Thanks to Soul, Godlike, GE, Revenant, Godsreign, TR, and all the teams that attended the meeting,” Nandy wrote.

“The good news is that many non-endemic sponsors have shown interest in being a part of this league. A bright future lies ahead,” he further added. With so many big names involved, the news will likely be big and may actually be a ticket to go international.

Fans have been asking what game Nandy was talking about, with many speculating on Valorant Mobile. The game is currently in a beta phase, but multiple footage shows fleshed-out gameplay and mechanics. With the popularity of Valorant on PC, it is very likely that Riot Games will also push Valorant Mobile in India.

Responding to the statement, a popular esports org that was also a part of the meeting also confirmed that something big is brewing. “An incredible step forward for Indian esports! Proud to be part of this exciting journey as we gear up for global recognition. With direct slots and new sponsorship opportunities, the future looks brighter than ever,” the org wrote.

Nandy’s statement regarding the sponsors also gives us a hint that Skyesports might also be looking to introduce a new esports league or at least be a part of it. Hopefully, more details on the matter will be revealed soon.
