After multiple back and forths regarding the day for Grand Theft Auto (GTA) 6 release date delay, Take-Two Interactive has once again clarified that GTA 6 is still coming in Fall 2025. Although not directly, the release window was once again mentioned in the most recent financial report for the Fiscal First Quarter of 2025.
GTA 6 was revealed and was done last year in December. Before that, many rumours and speculations were going around for a long time, which made the official announcement all the more exciting as fans could not believe it was happening.

Multiple Reassurances by Take Two
This is not the first time Take-Two Interactive has told fans that the game release is currently on track. The first time gamers were worried about a delay was due to Rockstar Games’ habit of delaying GTA games. At the time, the CEO of Take-Two, Strauss Zelnick reassured fans that the development was within the development schedule.
The second speculation of the delay arose with the recent SAG-AFTRA union strike for big gaming companies which also included Take Two, but a spokesperson later confirmed that GTA 6 is excluded and will not be affected by the strike. Now the financial report has further clarified the fact.
However, do note that even if there is currently no delay, nothing is stopping the devs from taking a moment day to further evaluate the game. A great example is Stalker 2 which was planned to release in early September, but received another two-month delay, shifting the release to November 20.
Alongside GTA 6, the future line-up from different game development studios currently under Take-Two was also mentioned. These are -
