The qualifiers will see 96 teams from around the globe competing for four coveted spots in the group stage. These qualifiers, along with FaZe Clan and other HCS partner teams will vie for the championship title and a share of the substantial $250,000 (~£196,847) prize pool.

Besides the main competition, the HCS Atlanta Major will also feature a $5,000 (~£3,936) free-for-all tournament. This side event is open to both spectators and players, adding an extra layer of excitement. FaZe Clan is among four organizations hosting an HCS Major in 2024, alongside OpTic Gaming, Spacestation, and Quadrant. These events will culminate in October with the 2024 Halo World Championship in Seattle.

Why Halo Championship is growing?

The Halo Championship Series is showing robust growth within the FPS (first-person shooter) sector. For instance, the 2024 Arlington Major peaked at 109,760 viewers, according to Esports Charts, with FaZe Clan participating in three of the five most-watched matches of the event.

Hosting the Atlanta Major is a significant milestone for FaZe Clan, marking its first major event collaboration since merging with GameSquare, a North American holding company, in March 2024. FaZe Clan has also been expanding its partnerships, including launching a new energy drink flavour with GHOST in February.

Justin Kenna, CEO of GameSquare, expressed his enthusiasm about hosting the event: “As our first major collaboration with FaZe Clan officially in the GameSquare ecosystem, we are thrilled to partner with 343 Industries to bring the Halo Championship Series to Atlanta.”

“This moment combines GameSquare’s event production expertise with FaZe Clan’s unmatched esports pedigree. Adding the iconic Halo universe, we believe we can create an unforgettable event for gamers and fans alike.”
