Fans get first look at Karl Urban's Johnny Cage in Mortal Kombat movie

A new Mortal Kombat movie wrapped up production lat last yearand fans have now got their first look at Karl Urban as Johnny Cage. In an official post from the MKMovie account on X, a poster for a Johnny Cage movie ‘Uncaged Fury’ was shared among fans.

The poster showcased Karl Urban posing in front of an explosion of bikes flying around. He will be joined by other popular names for the movie including Hiroyuki Sanada as Scorpion, Joe Taslim as Sub-Zero, Tadanobu Asano as Lord Raiden, Jessica McNamee as Sonya Blade, Ana Thu Nguyen as Queen Sindel, and others.

Mortal Kobat trolling fans fake Johnny Cage movie

The announcement came as exciting news for fans who believed there was a standalone Johnny Cage movie coming this year. Turns out, the poster was just a joke and while Karl Urban is still taking on the role of Johnny Cage, there’s no standalone movie just yet.

This post was likely to have some fun as Johnny Cage, in the game, is a film star with a background in martial arts. The post is likely referring to his status in the game while and may be something fans get to see in the upcoming Mortal Kombat movie. Fake or not, fans did get a look at Johnny Cage.

When is Mortal Kombat 2 movie releasing?

While the production was completed last year, the movie is set to release late this year on October 25. There are also currently no details regarding the plot and what the movie will be movie will follow, meaning there’s a lot of time to create hype with more teasers and trailers. The first movie did well among the audience, and hopefully, the follow-up will raise the bar for video game movies even higher.
