The Intel Extreme Masters (IEM) Rio 2024 concluded a week ago with NaVi Lifting the championship trophy over MOUZ. This also concluded the 2024 circuit for the Pro Tour, and now fans have received the Pro Tour 2025 schedule from ESL. Starting once again in Katowice, fans will see the Pro Tour conclude with Chengdu next year.

Hosting an event in China was quite successful and very well received in 2024 and more tournaments are planned to be hosted there including the second CS2 Major in Shanghai, RMRs for which are soon to start featuring top teams from various regions.

However, 2025 is already looking stacked. PGL and StarLadder are entering the CS2 competitive scene and now ESL announced their Pro Tour, taking the LAN back to some of the most iconic locations in Counter-Strike history.

ESL Pro League Season 21: February 25th – March 16th
IEM Spring 2025: April 21st – 27th
IEM Dallas 2025: May 19th – 25th
IEM Cologne 2025: July 23rd – August 3rd
ESL Pro League Season 22: September 23rd – October 12th

An interesting thing this time will be the new Valve guidelines for CS2 tournaments. Starting in 2025, not only ESL but other tournament organizers will also need to follow the Valve guidelines to host tournaments. The main highlight is the removal of the franchise system and team invites based on Valve Rankings.

Furthermore, teams will be free to attend the event they prefer. The removal of the Franchise system has allowed a surge in tournament count, with some overlapping with each other. Teams can skip on one if they do not feel like competing or just attend another event.
