Epic Games has now released a new parental control option that allow a parent to limit and monitor how much time their child is spending playing a game. This feature will be available across Fortnite, Fall Guys and Rocket League. For Fortnite, this feature will also work if the child is Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN).
The tools, Time Limit Controls and Time Reports, are added to make sure kids do not spend more time than designated to play video games. The parent can also choose a specific window when the approved time limit is available to utilize.
Once everything is set up, it will persist across all devices if the same Epic Games account is in use. The child playing the game will receive notification when only 30 minutes of playtime is remaining. Once that is depleted, the kid will not be able to enter another match until the next window or day, depending on the set-up.

Weekly report and time extension
There are also options available for parents that will email the gameplay time reports directly to them. All they need to do is turn on the setting while setting up parental controls. One thing to note is that the email report will be weekly, but in order to check the time report daily, parents need to do it manually.
These reports are an overview of how much time the child is spending on playing video games and will be available regardless of the parent setting the limit. It can serve as a good tool to figure out if the child need to have a limit on gaming habits.
Another feature is the time extension system that allows the child to request an extension. This setting can also be turned on and off based on the preference. If the setting is off, the kid will not be able to request gameplay time extension and vice versa.
