Getting a ban inside a video game sucks, especially when you aren’t the culprit, and what’s a better way to cheer the player with free rewards. A Fortnite player who received a false ban two weeks ago has received 2,000 V-Bucks as compensation from Epic Games. These
Sharing an e-mail from Epic Games, Reddit user ‘Owen1218’ expressed their excitement of getting unbanned while getting free V-Bucks. The player don’t even mind getting a false ban if it meant getting some extra free V-Bucks, saying, “Has anyone else been erroneously banned before? I'll take it anytime for 2k vbucks.”

Epic Games have cited and enforced their zero tolerance policy towards cheating and anything that break their terms of gameplay. Most recently, the company took legal action against a cheater ruining FNCS qualifier by using cheats and avoiding a ban.
On the other hand, they also make sure that gamers who face problems from their side are properly compensated. Many others in the comment shared a similar experience of getting a false ban. “Same happened to me today, they banned me in 21-12-2024, free 2000 V-Bucks,” one user said.

Fortnite fans argue about compensation
While no one complained about the compensation, players did raise issues with how many players are compensated. A person with a single day ban gets 2,000 V-Bucks, while those with weeks of ban also gets the same amount.
While many agreed with the argument, it’s hard to complain as it is ultimately free premium currency. “That’s kinda unfair, but I mean it's better than no compensation,” one user said, which is true as other games usually does not do anything more than unbanning the player.
Regardless of what the argument is, a false ban is ultimately the only way to get free V-Bucks. Although, there have been instances that returning Fortnite players after a few months can also get similar compensation.
