Elden Ring fans need not worry about what people will say if they plan to use seamless co-op mods in the game. In fact, in a recent interview with PC Gamer, the game director for Elden Ring, Hidetaka Miyazaki, revealed that the development team isn’t opposed to co-op mods like these.

Ahead of the release of much anticipated DLC, Shadow of The Erdtree, players are flocking back to the game in droves. The 24-hour peak for Elden Ring is now almost 200,000K players who are prepping for the release.

Fromsoft may add seamless co-op in future games

During the interview, Miyazaki said the current co-op is focused on casual teaming up between players, “drop-in, defeat a boss, drop out”. This was meant to let players focus on their own gameplay and also get help if they are stuck somewhere.

However, there has been a high demand for seamless co-op built into the games from the start for the players who want to play the game with friends from start to finish without any interruption.  The studio has heard this request too and may implement local co-op features in their future games that will allow players to complete the game entirely with their friends.

As of now, the seamless co-op mod is the most popular mod for Elden Ring, allowing players to play the game together with friends without worrying about the other disconnecting on the death of either, which is a huge quality of life change for many.

Miyazaki did not outright promise that future games would have these features, but ha acknowledged the demand is enough for players and with a green light from the game director himself, many more who left the game without defeating Mogh may come back as defeating him is a necessary part of playing the DLC as far as we all know.
