Dinosaur themed survival horror games to dominate 2025?

The upcoming year is set to bring a lot of games, and one category in particular, survival horror, especially with a dinosaur theme, is looking to dominate the charts. Multiple dinosaur-themed games are set to release next year, including one from the most popular franchise, Jurassic Park, that will bring follow-up events from the 1993 Jurassic Park film.

Furthermore, if players do not like to be the ones being hunted, they can also be a hunter in Monster Hunters Wilds. Not exactly Dinosaur-themed survival, but the game already had a set release date and saw massive success during the open beta across all platforms.

Here are some of the most anticipated games in the category

Jurassic Park: Survival

The classic dinosaur survival franchise returns with another video game entry. The game tells a story of what happened on Isla Nublar, a day after the events of the beloved 1993 Jurassic Park film. The game is a first-person survival horror where players will take on the role of InGen scientist Dr. Maya Joshi, who was left behind during the incident and will have to survive alone.

FEROCIOUS

A bit different from others in the genre, Ferocious land players on an unknown island after a shipwreck. The players are in search of their lost brother and will face some prehistoric dinosaurs and mercenaries. Ferocious will also allow players to either go gunsblazing or full stealth in terms of gameplay.

Instinction

Another dinosaur-themed game; this one also brings something new to the table. Players are to survive a mysterious organisation and ancient creatures. The ancient creatures in talk are dinosaurs; not much is revealed about the plot, but it is revealed players can collect bones and open a museum.

Do note that these aren’t the only notable games released in 2025; the entire year is filled with some of the most anticipated games, including GTA 6, which will come out in Fall 2025. In fact, GTA 6 might also be the reason why these games may get delayed, as companies are already scared to fix a release date for their games.
