CR7 to go against some iconic fighting games characters Photograph: (SNK)
One of the biggest sports personalities, Cristiano Ronaldo, is switching his virtual career to join the ranks of playable fighters in Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves. The upcoming fighting game by SNK Corporation is coming back after two decades, and fans are quite excited, especially after Ronaldo made the announcement alongside a gameplay teaser.
“One of the top football players in the world. He uses his time off to visit South Town to hone his new football skills. The various techniques he has developed playing football make him an unstoppable force, even to seasoned fighters,” the official description on the Fatal Fury website reads.
Unfortunately, Ronaldo will not be voicing his character in the game, as the description reveals Juan Felipe Sierra as the voice behind CR7. This is likely for the best, as while Ronaldo may be a football legend, voice acting is a completely different thing. He does retain his iconic Siuuuu.

Ronaldo previously teased his involvement in Fatal Fury
This isn’t the first time fans have seen Cristiano Ronaldo involved with Fatal Fury. Back in 2024, the football star posted the teaser for the game, revealing something exciting was coming. People did predict his involvement; however, many forgot the announcement until the latest trailer showcasing his fighting moves surfaced.
We already know the football star is standing 6’2 tall with a physique everyone across the globe wants; however, as seen in the gameplay teaser, Ronaldo will also make use of the football, which further narrates his strengths to players while also adding a fun new gameplay style.

How did Cristiano Ronaldo end up in Fatal Fury?
The collaboration between Cristiano Ronaldo and Fatal Fury does come as a big surprise, as one would expect the first game where he shows up to Mortal Kombat. However, the development studio ‘SNK’ is owned by the MiSK Foundation, a non-profit organisation owned by Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, who also loves video games.
Ronaldo is currently playing for Al Nassr FC, which is owned by the Public Investment Fund and controlled by the Crown Prince. It’s not hard to connect the dots from here on. Honestly, outside of iconic characters like Mai Shiranui and Terry Bogard, Fatal Fury also needed to have an outside influence to attract more eyes ahead of its return to mainstream fighting games, and Cristiano Ronaldo along with the Street Fighter collab seems to be doing fine.
