Legacy XP tokens are still usable in Black Ops 6 (Image - Activision)
Call of Duty Players recently had their legacy XP token appear inside Black Ops 6 and as a result, many were quite happy as it would make the grind for prestige easy. Unfortunately, it was patched, and the tokens could not be used inside Black Ops 6. This resulted in backlash from the community, and the devs have now posted a workaround solution.
As per an official post, the legacy XP tokens showing up after Black Ops 6 season 1 update were due to a UI bug. These were then disabled after a patch as they were causing stability issues. However, since players were quite happy, the company decided to make it true.
"We realize how much players appreciate being able to redeem legacy XP tokens in both BO6 and Warzone, so we are currently testing a way to implement this change correctly in a future update. This allows us time to ensure stability is maintained before we reintroduce this feature," Treyarch wrote.
In order to currently use the legacy XP tokens, players first need to activate them through Warzone. Once done, they will be active in the Black Ops 6 multiplayer and will work as usual. For the moment, the developers are trying to find a way to let players use them directly in a future update.
With the start of Season 01, a UI bug allowed players to activate legacy XP tokens in Black Ops 6. Unfortunately, it also introduced some potential risk to game stability, which is why it was patched yesterday.

Call of Duty community making full use of XP boost
The addition of legacy XP tokens was a huge boon to the players, as many of them have saved up hundreds of hours of double XP. Since Season 1 of Black Ops 6 started, many were planning to make good use of these tokens.
The initial news was a punch in the gut, but things seem to be settling down and fans are celebrating that COD finally did something that fans actually needed. The entire community including the top content creator in COD space thanked the dev team for their decision.
