Kar98k has become the most popular weapon in Modern Warfare 3 due to its power and reliability. However, players have now been asking for a nerf to the weapon as it has become a broken meta, taking the fun out of the game.

Balance has been one of the hot topics in Call of Duty games for quite some time. For the last few weeks, players have been complaining to Activision to do something about the weapon. Players complain that apart from having one shot one kill, the weapon also boasts superior aim assist.

CoD devs respond to the complaints

With the issue of Kar98k flooding the CoD community, Sledgehammer Games has finally responded and acknowledged the matter, telling everyone that balance adjustments for the weapon are coming. The developers are aiming for fixes with the upcoming Season 4 Reloaded which is expected to launch on June 26.

The news came as a relief for many players, who are happy that one of the one-shot weapons will finally get a nerf. However, a few others are still not happy as they have to deal with this issue for a week more, calling out Activision for milking meta weapons every season.

Players have come up with different forms of nerfs saying it will make the weapon usable. Some suggested lowering the ADS for the weapon, while others suggested lowering the aim assist. “The fact that on the controller you can begin a quick scope a foot off left of the head, and it pulls your crosshair with no adjustment of your own to the head is such a broken mechanic,” one of the players said.

The debate regarding aim assist for controllers is a long-running one and part of the complaints also come from the Mouse and Keyboard users, who match against controller players with aim assist. This debate seems to be rising quite frequently in CoD games.
