BGIS 2025 In-Game Qualifier concludes; Over 1000 teams move to Round 1

The in-game qualifiers for Battlegrounds Mobile India Series (BGIS) 2025 have concluded and 1,016 teams have made their way into the main event. Those qualified will receive an email confirmation from Krafton India Esports and can immediately start preparing for the next rounds and things are going to get tough from this point onwards.

Qualifying participants will now compete in Round 1, set to take place between February 16 and 23. These teams will be joined by the bottom eight teams from BGIS The Grind Week 1 in an intense face-off across the whole week, with losers returning home and left to try their luck across future BGMI tournaments.

A long way ahead for all BGMI teams

While the teams may have survived the open qualifiers, they are still a long way off from making it to the quarterfinals. The competing teams now have to survive four rounds across four weeks while also competing against some of the top BGMI teams.

Those who are directly invited to The Grind get a second chance for survival. However, for teams coming through open qualifiers, one bad performance can send them home at any point at the event. This will likely leave most teams to give their best for survival, but it's easier said than done.

Only 64 teams will make it into the quarterfinals

Over one month, out of the 1,016 teams qualifying for Round 1, only 56 will make it into the quarterfinals. As for the teams competing in BGIS The Grind, only eight teams will join the fray, although others will get a chance through regular rounds. This goes on to tell how many teams will be returning home without even reaching the preliminary phase of the BGIS 2025 finals.
