Assassin’s Creed Shadows is a massive hit for Ubisoft according to insider data

Ubisoft is enjoying the massive success of the recently released Assassin’s Creed Shadows. For more than a decade, the Assassin's Creed game franchise has been the benchmark for Ubisoft's game development, and their recent work has once again proved that they are the best in Open-World games. The Storyline of AC Shadows is set in Japan in the late 16th century. It features two protagonists: Naoe Fujibayashi and Yasuke an African samurai warrior. The story revolves around the Japanese culture, Monarchy system, and Politics during that period. 

AC Shadows Record-breaking player count

It looks like Assasin’s Creed Shadows fans have approved the game for its graphics and gameplay with its record-breaking opening sales and player count since its launch. According to some insiders the Shadows crossed over 2.2 million count. Compared with other Ubisoft titles, AC Shadows has the second highest player count, the first being Assasin’s Creed Valhalla with 2.55 million counts.

It is ahead of Assassins Creed Odyssey which had 4,30,000 counts. It is projected to cross 6,000,000 players within one month while Valhalla had 8,000,000 and Odyssey had 3.4 million. Usually, Ubisoft launched the AC series games during the holiday season to boost sales among fans. 

No. 1 on Steam

This was a surprise Spring release, but even then their loyal fans showed up and welcomed the new game with open arms. Shadows is now the highest-played game on Steam beating previous cult Assassin's Creed games like Origins, Unity and  Black Flag. The Assasins Creed franchise is one of the oldest game series started in 2007, and is still very successful in the gaming and esports industry. The reasons are its blend of history and drama, engaging gameplay, high-quality graphics and excellent storyline.

Within an hour of its launch, it crossed 1 million player counts and Ubisoft thanked all its fans for appreciating their work. They posted a heartfelt message to its fans who supported the game from the first day of its development. The post say, “The Sheer amount of love and positivity we’ve received has been incredibly heartwarming.”
