AMD recently revealed the Radeon RX 9070 and RX 9070 XT that will be available in the next few days. But with a price tag of $549 and $599, the GPUs aren’t completely budget-friendly. For a budget card, gamers may have to wait a few months as the RX 9060 will reportedly launch sometime in Q2 2025, going head-to-head with Nvidia’s RTX 5060.
As reported by MrDrivers, the Radeon RX 9060 GPUs will launch by Q2 2025. The RX 9070 and RX 9070 XT are set to compete with the Nvidia RTX 5070 and 5070 Ti and seem to have an advantage over price. RX 9060 is also expected to feature similar pricing to keep things competitive.

AMD looking to grab the market left out by Nvidia
The whole point of the RX 9000 series for AMD is to set footing in the GPU market. Nvidia has mostly been focusing on high-end GPUs with a budget gaming section, which is a huge part of the industry, having to make do with whatever hit or miss the company makes. The AMD GPUs are expected to put up a decent competition.
Nvidia is set to announce the 5060 Ti by the end of March, however, there is one more thing AMD needs to look out for. There have been mentions of the RTX 5050 GPU which can be released as an extreme budget option. Not much is known about these cards, but they can pose a challenge considering making use of new DLSS 4 and multi-frame generation.

Can RX 9060 compete with RTX 5060?
First-party benchmarks for AMD GPUs are looking decent with people waiting for raw performance comparison, however, Nvidia has a big advantage of DLSS and multi-frame generation. It’s hard to tell how well the FSR 4 actually will be, but since AMD promised a decent 4k gaming in budget, people have hope.
Going by the current specs, the RX 9060 and the XT edition (if there is one) should provide a decent 1080p to 1440p gaming experience in raw performance. Ray-tracing on the other hand is a completely different topic in which AMD has failed to give a competition. The GPU is also expected to feature 8GB VRAM which might not be enough for extreme gaming.
