Respawn Entertainment has now announced the Space Hunt Event, featuring new battle royale mode and rewards in Apex Legends. The new event will be available from September 17 and conclude on October 8. Players can get multiple premium items for free, including a Mythic melee that can be used on all characters.

Knockout mode

The space hunt brings a new game mode called Knockout, which is a 20-squad battle royale mode which brings a new twist to the game. Players have infinite respawns, however, the bottom five squads with the lowest amount of points will be eliminated after each round.

To collect these points, players will need to complete various objectives, including zone capture and EVO collection. With 15 squads eliminated after three rounds, the final five will be redeployed, with each team for itself and only one emerging as the winner.

During the Space Hunt event, players will also have a chance to unlock two legends, Crypto and Wattson for free by completing various challenges. Crypto’s Trials will be available starting September 17 and will end on October 15. Wattson’s Trials will commence on October 1 and end alongside Crypto.

Event Rewards

While there are a lot of premium skins introduced with the event, players can also grind the daily event challenges to acquire ‘Bounty Bucks’ which can be spent in the event shop for various rewards from cosmetics, packs, crafting materials, battle pass tier skips and more. Do note that the Bounty Bucks come in limited amounts, so make sure to plan what to purchase ahead of time.

Apex legends

Similar to other events, there are also milestone items and those who secure all 36 items which can be acquired from Space Hunt Event Packs, will get a Mythic universal melee item, Serpent's Sting.

Balance Update

The mid-season update for Apex Legends also brings a lot of changes to weapons, loot, and even legends. These buffs and nerfs are a core part of keeping the game alive by rotating the meta and gameplay. Let’s check out what’s changed with the new update.

Multiple popular weapons that were in demand constantly saw some changes including the Havoc Rifle which is losing the turbocharger, the turbocharger is being removed for the loot pool. R-99 SMG now have a bit more kick and damage falloff.

Ultimate Accelerant will now be a purple item and much harder to find, previously it was a blue item and was available relatively easily. Gun Shield Generator also saw a nerf to its spawn rate. Along with items, four legends saw balance changes.

Fuse saw a cap to the radius of the maximum scan area to 450% and the mortar will also not be supporting multi-targeting. Revenant’s Forged Shadows saw a decrease in shield health from 75 to 50 and an increase in activation time for the ultimate ability. Rampart can now re-enter Sheila turret much faster, with the delay reduced from 1 second to 0.15 seconds.

Valkyrie Rework

The last legend on the list is Valkyrie, but instead of buff or nerf, the developers decided for a complete rework to the character. Previously a Skirmisher, Valkyrie saw a role change and will now be a Recon Legend once again with ability reworks.

Full Tank upgrade will have a 50% delay reduction from 8s to 4s, and she will gain Threat Vision while using the jetpack. The jetpack will also be more agile, with handling feeling similar to the time when the legend was first released.
