EA not interested in new Dead Space game Photograph: (EA)
Despite an incredible remake and response from the community on Dead Space Remake, Electronic Arts (EA) has reportedly rejected a 4th instalment in the space horror franchise. The Dead Space has been one of the most popular outer space horror games and while not all games were treated equally by fans, the series remains a cult classic.
In an interview with YouTuber Dan Allen Gaming, one of the creators of original Dead Space, Glen Schofield talked about the Remake released last year. Upon asking about a new game in the series, Schofield revealed that he tried previous this year pitching Dead Space 4 to EA, however, he was promptly shot down.
“We tried, actually, you know, the three of us, for Dead Space 4. I mean, we're talking this year. We didn't go too deep; they just said we're not interested right now, we appreciate it, blah blah blah. We know who to talk to, so we didn't go and take it any further, and we respected their opinion. They know their numbers and what they have to ship and all that, so yeah,” Schofield said.

EA done with creating more Dead Space games?
The immediate response does come as sad news for fans. EA, nowadays, is usually known for its EA Sports series, which has been doing really well. Often times, they deviate into single players games, and dead space was among one of those times. The game was received well by the audience, but might not have generated enough profits to greenlight another game in the series.
“The industry is in a weird place right now, and people are really hesitant to take chances on things, so you got to, you know, take it with a grain of salt. Who knows, maybe one day. I think we'd all love to do Dead Space 4,” added Christopher Stone, another one of the creators of the game.
