Punjab Kings put out a video of Chahal joining the training and head to the open nets and bat. Ahead of his batting stint, Chahal could be seen having a slight dig at Pakistan’s white-ball skipper Mohammad Rizwan. The 32-year-old was once filmed batting in the nets and shouting out a huge ‘Yes it is a two’ which left the social media users in splits.

The 34-year-old while going into bat was seen asking his teammate Shashank Singh “Darr gaye kya?” Chahal then said, “Main toh seedha karunga, Yes it is two” which prompted laughter from his teammate. The veteran star has been in the news after being spotted with a new companion and watching the finals of Champions Trophy in Dubai. The batting session also saw various hilarious moments with Chahal even taking a dig at himself and saying “Mujhse toh badi thigh pad pehni hui hai.”

Can Punjab Kings win their first ever IPL title?

Former Australian skipper and batting legend Ricky Ponting has taken over as the coach of the Punjab Kings side. 50-year-old Ponting who had earlier coached Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals will hope to end Punjab’ title drought. Shreyas Iyer was named the new captain of the side after being brought for a whopping INR 26.75 Crores.

Punjab had retained Shashank and Prabhsimran Singh before exercising the Right-to-Match card to acquire Arshdeep Singh. The 2014 IPL finalists apart from buying Iyer and Chahal also went onto buy Australian duo Marcus Stoinis and Glenn Maxwell. The latter had earlier played for PBKS and was one of the biggest reasons behind qualifications to the finals in 2014.

Other superstar names like Josh Inglis, Marco Jansen, and Azmatullah Omarzai who have been in good form are also set to play for PBKS. Indian talents like Musheer Khan, Nehal Wadhera, and R Sai Kishore will hope to add more depth to the squad and help PBKS win their first IPL title.
