Skipper Hardik Pandya has been suspended for the game owing to a one-match ban due to poor over-rate last season.
Allah Ghazanfar has already been ruled out of the season due to injury. Jasprit Bumrah as per reports could miss the first two weeks of the new season. BCCI sources said to Times of India that while Bumrah has started bowling the first week of April is when the player could be seen in action next as the board wants to preserve him for the England series.
“He has started bowling at the Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru, but returning to full intensity will take time. As of now, early April seems like a more realistic timeline for his comeback, It’s a standard process. The medical team will carefully monitor his progress and only clear him once he can bowl at full intensity without discomfort for a sustained period” said the BCCI source to Times of India.
South African star Corbin Bosch has been added to the team after Lizaad Williams pulled out due to injury. Bosch made an amazing Test debut against Pakistan and impressed everyone with his bowling and batting. The 30-year-old was also part of MI Cape Town side that won their first ever SA20 title few weeks ago.
