India's former cricketer Aakash Chopra, in his recent YouTube channel, spoke about captain Suryakumar Yadav and his failed performances in T20I cricket. SKY is famous for his unorthodox shots, but that hasn't helped him get runs. While the team is doing good, the skipper's failure hasn't been highlighted yet.
"SKY is not scoring runs and is getting out the same way (playing the scoop shot). Sometimes, you feel that SKY will play like that only, which is also okay as long as you are successful. The game is ultimately about success. Till you are successful, your methods are not questioned. In the end, your score, average, strike rate, and how many knocks you have played in a winning cause, which he has played a lot, are seen. He has played those across the world. However, if runs haven't been scored since 2024, then you ask if there is another way. I don't know if there is another way or not," said Aakash Chopra in his YouTube video.
India are set to take on England in the fourth Test match, which is scheduled on January 31. The game will be held at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium, Pune. The Men in Blue are leading the series 2-1 and will be looking to win the 4th game to clinch the series. The Indian batters were horrible with the bat in the third T20I as they failed to chase the 172-run target.
Tilak should be sent at No. 3 only: Aakash Chopra
Aakash Chopra also opined on India's young batting prodigy Tilak Varma's batting position and said that he should be sent at No.3 as he is scoring runs and is a stable batter. The team can be dependent on him during crunch situations as he has given them results.
"Tilak should be sent at No. 3 only. The left-right combination hardly matters. You have more left-handers down the order as well. If the ball is not going to turn too much, which it won't on this pitch, you don't need a left-right combination. So I would say Tilak is in good form, so use his form. Whoever is in form, send him up the order and let him play more balls," added Chopra.
