In a recent piece of news, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the squad of India Under-19 for the upcoming England tour next month. The young team will play five Youth One-Day games, followed by two multi-day games against England Under-19. The One-Day series will start on Friday, June 27, in Hove, following the 50-over warm-up game at Loughborough University.

Young CSK star, Ayush Mhatre, who impressed everyone with his performances in the ongoing IPL 2025, has been announced as the skipper of the India U-19 against England U-19. Abhigyan Kundu has been named as his deputy for the English challenge. Besides this, another name that caught the attention is RR’s teenage batting prodigy, Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who might be seen as an opener on this tour.

All eyes on IPL stars, Ayush Mhatre and Vaibhav Suryavanshi

Speaking of skipper Ayush Mhatre’s performances in the ongoing IPL 2025, he has scored 206 runs in six innings, with a decent batting average of 34.33 and an amazing strike rate of 187.27, alongside hitting a half-century. Notably, Mhatre was named as a replacement for the injured CSK skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad.

On the other hand, the 14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi left everyone awestruck with his sensational outings in the tournament. He smashed 252 runs in seven innings, with an average of 36.00 and an outstanding batting strike rate of 206.55. The teenage Southpaw also scored a ‘fastest T20 century’ and a half-century.
