England's qualification for the 2nd stage of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024 came after their impressive performance in the games against Oman and Namibia. They have accompanied Australia to the Super 8 and are a part of Group 1. Even though the team's performance was brilliant, batter Jonny Bairstow was heavily criticized for his performance in the ongoing tournament. However, his reply to critics was the best thing on the Internet.

"It's not the first time that people have had a go at me, is it? So yeah, you take it on the chin, and you crack on. But look, at the end of the day, there's a reason why I've played for so long, and there's a reason why I'm in the team," said Jonny Bairstow, as quoted by IANS.

Bairstow showed his batting skills against Namibia, where he scored 31 runs off 18 balls, including three boundaries and two sixes. Along with him, Harry Brooks was the star of the match as he scored 47 runs off 20 balls, including four boundaries and two sixes. They helped England reach a reasonable total, and the rains handled the rest of the match.

'I just tried to stick in there' - Harry Brooks on his strategies during the game

England's Harry Brooks won the Player of the Match for his brilliant batting performance against Namibia where the team won by 41 runs. It was an impressive batting by him and while talking to the commentators he mentioned his strategies while he was on the crease which worked out in his favor.

"Facing the spin in the middle there was quite tough, didn't quite know how it was going to come off the pitch. I just tried to stick in there. I was trying to hit boundaries, I was just plinking it into the gaps and getting twos, I was knackered in the end but I am glad that I got a few runs," said Harry Brooks at the post-match presentation.
