According to reports doing the rounds, Indian fast bowler Prasidh Krishna is also likely ruled out of the first round of the Duleep Trophy 2024. As per reports, the pacer is still on the mend after getting injured after the tour of South Africa. The last time Prasidh Krishna donned the Indian colours was the Cape Town Test.

The Karnataka pacer also missed out on IPL 2024 due to injury and is yet to come back to the field. Earlier today, news came out that Ishan Kishan is set to miss the opening game of the tournament starting on Thursday. CRICBUZZ reported that Ishan Kishan has picked up an injury. The 26-year-old had a comeback to domestic cricket during the Buchi Babu tournament for Jharkhand.

Sanju Samson set for Duleep Trophy call-up?

With Ishan Kishan now out of the opening rounds, there is a chance that Sanju Samson could be called up. The 29-year-old hasn’t played for India since the T20I series and has been ignored for the ODI series. Earlier this week it was reported that Suryakumar Yadav is also out of the Duleep Trophy first round. The 33-year-old was struck on his during fielding versus Tamil Nadu during the Buchi Babu tournament.

The likes of Mohammed Shami and Umran Malik were the earliest to be ruled out. The latter was first ruled out due to dengue. The Jammu and Kashmir fast bowler was then passed fit to play before getting ill once more. Even Siraj had to pull out due to illness with the BCCI deciding to replace the pacer with Navdeep Saini.
All the teams have already reached Bengaluru and Anantapur for the first round of matches. Both the games will start on the 5th of September with the games starting at 9:30 AM.

Former Indian coach Rahul Dravid has been appointed as the coach of the Rajasthan Royals ahead of IPL 2025. The 51-year-old finished his playing career with the Royals before becoming the coach for the next two years. Rahul Dravid was the coach when India won the T20 World Cup in June beating South Africa in the final.
