With his dazzling batting and humorous demeanour, Shikhar Dhawan has managed to become one of India's most loved cricketers. Dhawan’s lighter side was once again on display for his fans on social media when he posted a comment on his former India teammate Dinesh Karthik's Instagram post.

Karthik, who announced retirement from all formats of cricket in 2024 June, is currently part of the Sky Sports broadcasting team in England for the ongoing edition of The Hundred. The veteran keeper-batter shared a few pictures of him well-dressed in a double-breasted blazer and a turtle neck pullover.

“Hey Boss, taking a subway to work. Will be on time for my standup,” Karthik wrote as a caption.

His dapper look received many compliments from his fans. However, Dhawan decided to poke fun at the cricketer-turned-commentator by asking if he was in England for work or a photo shoot.

“Boss work pe gya thaa yaa photo pe,” commented the Player of the Series of 2013 Champions Trophy.

Dinesh Karthik set to feature in SA20 2025

Dinesh Karthik will feature in the upcoming edition of the SA20 in 2025. He will become the first-ever cricketer from India to take part in the South African T20 league. The 39-year-old will feature for Paarl Royals as an overseas player.

"I have so many fond memories of playing in and visiting South Africa, and when this opportunity came about, I couldn't say no because of how special it would be to come back to playing competitive cricket and win this incredible competition with the Royals.

Notably, Karthik hung up his boots from the Indian Premier League (IPL) after Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) lost in the Eliminator clash. However, he will continue with the team as their mentor and batting coach for the 2025 season.
