India and England are set to lock horns in the 2nd semi-final game of the T20 World Cup. If India win the contest they will face South Africa in the final game in Barbados on the 29th of June.

The first semi-final game was played between South Africa and Afghanistan one day prior to the semi-final 2 game. In which the Proteas handed a humiliating loss to the Afghans by 9 wickets.

While the first Semi-Final had the reserve day, the second Semi-Final cannot afford the same luxury. This now has raised concerns amongst the Indian fan base as they will be playing the second match.

What if it rains during the second Semi-Finals?

Now as per the rules, the ICC has announced that there will be an extra 250 minutes awarded to end the game on the same day. It is also because the final of the tournament is set to be played on the 29th in Barbados.

In the case there is a reserve day the two teams will have to play on the 28th and fly to Barbados the same evening making it taxing for the players. Hence the ICC had decided to come up with this arrangement.

In case the entire game is washed out due to rain, then India will make it to the finals of the T20 World Cup 2024. It is because India have finished top of their Super-8 group and England finished second in their group.

England who are the defending champions had beaten the United States of America in their previous encounter. The ten-wicket win with over ten overs to spare made England the first semi-finalists. While the Indian side are still unbeaten. However, they will look to avenge their 2022 T20 World Cup semi-final loss where the Men in Blue were handed an embarrassing 10-wicket loss.
