The El Clasico of the IPL 2024 season is back. It's the clash between the Mumbai Indians (MI) and the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the 29th game of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. The fans are excited to watch these two teams play against each other after a year-long wait.

A lot has changed in a year for both teams as they have two new captains heading the pack. While Hardik Pandya was appointed MI's captain, MS Dhoni passed the captaincy baton to young Ruturaj Gaikwad. So far both captains have won two matches each and this match will be a test for them to continue the legacy of their predecessors.

Moreover, the main question remains as to why the MI vs CSK clash in IPL is called the El Clasico. So, the El Clasico term came to Cricket from the Spanish club's rivalry between Barcelona and Real Madrid, the fiercest rivalry of all time. The players and the fan clubs also fight against each other since the competition between these teams is always neck-to-neck.

Also, El Clasico is a Spanish term which means 'The Classic' in English. Similar scenes have happened with CSK and MI as they both have played the most playoffs and finals and collectively have 10 trophies, five each. Moreover, they have played against each other the most and have had some epic battles between the players. Hence, the clash between the MI and CSK is called the El Clasico of IPL.

Hardik Pandya vs Ruturaj Gaikwad for the first time in the IPL

In the 29th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024, Mumbai Indians (MI) will play against the mighty Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in Mumbai. The clash between the arch-rivals will be exciting to watch but it won't be similar to how it used to be during the Rohit Sharma and MS Dhoni era.

The competition was on a different level with players like Sachin Tendulkar, Kieron Pollard, Dwayne Bravo, Albie Morkel and many more. Both teams will miss their prime players ahead of the clash. However, the captains will try to create their legacy from now on as they are the future of the team.

Moreover, Hardik Pandya and Ruturaj Gaikwad have cool and composed personalities during tough times which is a good thing for the entire team's atmosphere. This match might be tricky for the men-in-yellow as MI has their home advantage, but writing CSK off will be a huge mistake which the men-in-blue should avoid to get a positive match result.
