Young cricket sensation Musheer Khan is expected to be out for months. This news comes after Musheer along with his father Naushad Khan and a few others met with an accident. The youngster was traveling to Lucknow from Azamgarh to take part in the Irani Cup tournament.

This is when the car they were traveling in met with an accident and ruled him out of the game. The young batter suffered injuries to his neck and was seen sporting a neck brace in a recent video that went viral on social media.

One MCA source while speaking to the media had said, “He met with an accident last night and will miss the Irani Cup. He will be flying back to Mumbai on Sunday. The medical team of MCA and BCCI is monitoring his situation. The BCCI will be doing another round of medical tests and scans once he returns.”

Sarfaraz Khan delivers on his promise to family

Indian batter Sarfaraz Khan happens to be the elder brother of Musheer had promised to score a huge century. The 26-year-old scored an unbeaten 222 for Mumbai during the Irani Cup match against Rest of India. This helped the defending Ranji Trophy winners to post a mammoth 537 on the board.

Speaking to the media at the end of the 3rd day, Sarfaraz Khan said, “It has been an emotional week for me. I had promised my family and teammates that 'if I am set, if I cross the fifty, I will score a double hundred - a hundred for me and hundred for my brother.”

India’s batting star also added, “If he would have played, Abbu would have been prouder. Unfortunately, he met with an accident. So, I thought I have to somehow score a double ton in this match." Rest of India were placed at 400/6 during the lunch on day four. Abhimany Eeswaran was out for 191 while Dhruv Jurel was out after scoring 93. Rest of India are still 137-runs behind Mumbai's first innings score to take the cup on 1st innings lead.

The 26-year-old went onto say “It's a big opportunity for us to win the Irani Cup after a long time. Back of the mind, I thought of playing as long as possible, putting as many runs on the board as possible which will help the team win. I'm known to play big knocks. I feel good doing things I'm known for. Mumbai also needed me to bat long”
