The Capitals will be looking to stage their comeback in the ongoing season after their horrendous show in the IPL 2024, where they failed to make it to the knockout stage despite Pant's comeback. The side boasts a formidable squad and will be looking to start their campaign with a win in Visakhapatnam.

Are you aware of what happened when Delhi Capitals last played here? The team faced Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the 16th game of the IPL 2024 on April 3rd. This game was a challenging game for Delhi Capitals as they suffered a defeat by 106 runs against the IPL 2024 champions.

Speaking about the game here, it was KKR skipper Shreyas Iyer who won the toss and decided to bat first. After opting to bat first in the game, the side has amassed a huge total of 272/3 in just 20 overs.

Sunil Narine and Angkrish Raghuvanshi steal the spotlight

Wicketkeeper batter Salt was dismissed for just 18 runs, but West Indies power hitter Sunil Narine stole the show. Narine hammered a magnificent 85 off 39 balls, featuring seven boundaries and seven sixes with a solid strike rate of 217, while Angkrish Raghuvanshi made 54 off 27 balls from five fours and three maximums.

Andre Russell also made 41 off 19 balls before power hitter Rinku Singh chipped in 26 off eight balls from one four and three towering sixes to help KKR post a blistering total.

DC's batting collapse!

However, during the chase, DC's top order faltered as opening batters David Warner and Prithvi Shaw departed for just 18 and 10 runs, respectively. Following them, Mitchell Marsh, Abishek Porel, and Axar Patel were out on duck.

However, skipper Rishabh Pant made 55 from 25 balls with four boundaries and five sixes before Proteas batter Tristan Stubbs chipped in 54 off 32 balls with four boundaries and four sixes, with a solid strike rate of 169. No batters could stand as they were bundled out for 166 runs in just 17.2.

This was one of the games that showcased DC's flaws and highlighted their inconsistency in high-pressure games in the IPL 2024.
