The former CSK pacer was at his belligerent best as soon as he saw two of his former teammates walks into bat. Chahar, was seen clapping and saying something as soon as he spotted Ravindra Jadeja and MS Dhoni walk to the wicket. It was all in jest as the CSK veteran duo could be seen having a funny banter with the pacer.

MS Dhoni at the end of the match could be seen playfully threatening to hit Chahar who was seen running away. It was a great start to the season for CSK as Rachin Ravindra, Ruturaj Gaikwad, and Noor Ahmad played a key role with the bat and ball. While Ravindra and Gaikwad scored fifties with the bat, it was man of the match Noord Ahmad’s four wicket haul that helped restrict MI to 155.

‘I will try to stay away as much as possible’ MS Dhoni to Ruturaj Gaikwad

Former Chennai Super Kings skipper MS Dhoni spoke to Jio Hotstar revealing his conversation with Ruturaj Gaikwad, who is the current skipper. The 43-year-old decided to step down as the captain ahead of the 2024 season and Gaikwad was given the reins of the team for the new season.

Dhoni during his chat with Jio Hotstar said, “Ruturaj has been part of us for quite some time. His temperament is very good, he's very calm, very composed. So those were the reasons we considered him for leadership. Before the start of the tournament, I also told him, 'If I give you advice, it doesn't mean you have to follow it. I will try to stay away as much as possible."

The 43-year-old also added, “During the season, a lot of people speculated that I was making the decisions in the background. But the fact is, he was making 99 per cent of the decisions. The most important calls -- bowling changes, field placements -- were all his. I was just helping him out. He did a brilliant job of handling the players."
