Hardik Pandya-led Mumbai Indians hosted Rajasthan Royals at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, in the 14th match of the ongoing Indian Premier League. However, the hosts faced another disappointment as they faced a drastic top-order collapse, losing four wickets just at the score of 20 runs in 3.3 overs.

Eventually, Mumbai Indians were restricted to a score of only 125 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Skipper Hardik Pandya ended up as the leading run-scorer for his side, scoring 34 runs off 21 balls, with 6 fours. He was followed by Tilak Varma’s 32 runs off 29 balls, with 2 sixes.

These knocks somehow helped MI to cross the mark of 100 runs and post a total of 125 runs. The veteran pacer Trent Boult completely troubled MI and scalped 3 wickets just at the cost of 22 runs in his 4 overs. Besides him, the star leg spinner Yuzvendra Chahal also bowled impressively and claimed 3 wickets just at the cost of 11 runs in his 4 overs. Besides these two, Avesh Khan and Nandre Burger scalped 1 and 2 wickets, respectively.

Riyan Parag leads the ‘RR run-chase’

While chasing the target, star and in-form middle-order batter Riyan Parag played a wonderful half-century knock of 54 runs off 39 balls with 5 fours and 3 sixes. On the back of his knock, RR managed to chase down the target comfortably in overs, scoring 127 runs for the loss of 4 wickets and winning the match by 6 wickets.

Rajasthan Royals have registered their third consecutive half-century in the third match of their IPL 2024 campaign. On the other hand, it was the third successive defeat in their IPL 2024 campaign’s third match.

Akash Madhwal bowled quite well in comparison to other bowlers, he scalped 3 wickets just at the cost of 20 runs in his quota of 4 overs. Apart from him, Kwena Maphaka also claimed 1 wicket, conceding 23 runs off 2 balls.
