Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) are set to host Gujarat Titans (GT) in match number 19 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) on Sunday. It was Shubman Gill who won the toss and chose to bowl first. SRH is coming into the game with three successive losses that have seen them drop to the bottom of the IPL 2025 points table. Hyderabad was outclassed by Kolkata Knight Riders in the last game as they lost by 80 runs.

Speaking at the toss, Pat Cummins declared his intention to see his team play an aggressive brand of cricket. SRH’s skipper said, “Happy to bat first. We want to be aggressive. It's a ground we like batting at; we scored 280 at this venue not so long ago. We need to play our best. Need to focus on our strengths.”

Veteran left-arm pacer Jaydev Unadkat was included in the team, as the 33-year-old will play his first game of the season. Unadkat comes in place of Harshal Patel, who was ruled out of the game due to illness, as revealed by skipper Cummins during the toss. Sri Lankan star Kamindu Mendis was retained in the team after his steady debut vs. KKR.

Washington Sundar makes his IPL debut for Gujarat Titans

Former SRH all-rounder Washington Sundar has been given his first start for Gujarat Titans. The 25-year-old came in for Mohammad Arshad Khan, who had played in the last game versus Royal Challengers Bengaluru earlier in the week. Many fans had wondered why Sundar wasn’t given a start despite his decent numbers in the IPL.

GT skipper Shubman Gill, while speaking about his decision to bowl first, said, Looks like a slowish wicket, different from the previous two games, as it's a black soil surface. Generally it's a good wicket. We have been playing well and need to adapt to the conditions as soon as possible. I think we had good memories in the past; we are continuing to have good fun.”

Former SRH stars Rashid Khan and Mohammed Siraj will be in focus during the game on Sunday. Rashid Khan was smashed for 54 runs by the RCB batters as the Afghan spinner went wicketless. Siraj stole the show with the ball versus RCB, taking three wickets and playing a key role in the win over his former side.
