Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) won their third Indian Premier League (IPL) trophy after a gap of 10 years after beating the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) by eight wickets. KKR captain Shreyas Iyer was out of words as he was invited to talk to the commentators. However, he did mention the fact that the players carried the pressure really well and backed the team whenever it was needed.

"This is what we demanded from the team and every individual. They stood up to the right occasion and the feeling is hard to express. It (wait) was so long, longer than the match. We played like invincibles throughout the season. There's so much to cherish right now. It is pleasing, the performance has been flawless throughout. I am running out of words right now," said Shreyas Iyer.

The Knight Riders had quite a balanced team this year, which was the reason for their excellent performance throughout the season. Most of the credit goes to the Caribbean Kings, Sunil Narine and Andre Russell, for performing with the bat and the ball.

'It was a tricky wicket' - Skipper Pat Cummins' reaction on Chennai's track

Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) Pat Cummins praised the opponents for their brilliant game and the way they outplayed the Orange Army during the entire course of the game. SRH was clearly short of 40-50 runs as the pitch seemed extremely fine, but Cummins mentioned the pitch being tricky at the post-match presentation. KKR did a great job against the team, as they did in Qualifier 1 as well. Nevertheless, Cummins was proud of his boys' efforts and hence, will carry that to the next season.

"Old mate Starcy turned up again! Not enough tonight, totally outplayed. You hope you get some boundaries away but they bowled fantastically well, didn't give us anything. Similar to how they bowled in Ahmedabad. It was a tricky wicket. If we got 160, we felt we would have been in the game," said Pat Cummins at the post-match presentation.
