The Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have defeated the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 finals and have lifted the trophy for the third time. It was an amazing season for the KKR team as they were at the top of the table and now have beaten one of the season's strongest teams. This defeat didn't sit well with the SRH owner, Kavya Maran, as she broke down into tears after the team lost the match.

The video, which went viral on social media, captured Kavya crying after the match. While she turned back and tried to hide her tears, the sadness on her face made it quite evident that she wasn't doing well.

KKR outplayed the SRH team during the entire match with their batting and bowling. SRH's decision to bat first went wrong since the batters didn't play well today. The entire team shattered like playing cards during the first innings and could only score 113 runs. Moreover, the bowling wasn't good either. KKR was clearly much more deserving and, hence, won the trophy after a wait of 10 years.

Match Summary of IPL 2024 Finals

On winning the toss, SRH chose to bat first, thinking of putting up a good total on the board. On the other hand, it was a blessing in disguise for the KKR team, who wanted to field first. When the match started, Abhishek Sharma looked good in the first couple of balls; however, he gave away his wicket to KKR's star pacer Mitchell Starc during the first over.

After that, Travis Head followed his partner to the pavilion after getting out on the golden duck. It wasn't a good day for the Orange Army as they lost their best batters in the first two overs of the game. After that, a series of wickets started to fall, and none of the batters could cease the game. It was an appreciation-worthy bowling performance from the KKR bowlers, who dismissed one of the strongest teams of the IPL to just 113 runs. Andre Russell was the man for KKR, taking three wickets in just 2.3 overs.

When KKR batters came to the field, one of their best batters, Sunil Narine, was dismissed early, which did come as a shocker for the supporters. However, Venkatesh Iyer and Rahmanullah Gurbaz handled the match quite well and took the team past the victory line. Iyer played a fantastic knock of 52 runs off 26 balls, including four boundaries and three sixes. Thanks to his presence of mind, KKR chased down the score in just 10.3 overs.
